On September 24, 2005 Halifax FEHA members participated in a Seagrass Restoration Project. Halifax FEHA members Scott Chambers, Chuck Luther, Jack Towle, and Heather Will participated in the event. Due to the hurricanes of ’04 there were areas of shoreline on the Halifax River in which the seagrass had been destroyed. Participants transplanted seagrass from areas that had sufficient coverage to areas that were void. This was a new community service event for Halifax FEHA members. Those who participated felt that it was a worthwhile event even though they were knee deep in the water and ankle deep in muck. The group was able to fill in many areas that were previously empty with seagrass. It was hard work, but a good time was had by all.
Afterwards members were treated to lunch at a local restaurant courtesy of Halifax FEHA.
